A Resilient Tune Workshop

Access to music and other forms of creative art plays a significant role in building resilient communities and healing across the African Diaspora. This impacts mental health and gender-based violence, among other public health concerns.

The Resilient Tune workshop explores Black music and its role in social liberation. People use the creative arts to address social injustices and promote liberation. This workshop highlights: the social and psychological impact of arts & cultural expression, the history of Black music in America, and how to incorporate music into daily practices that impact mental health and well-being.

This workshop is available in-person or online.


Your Presenter

LySaundra Campbell has led conversations and workshops on a number of topics including: domestic and sexual violence prevention, economic justice and policy, technology safety, restorative & transformative justice, wellness practices for activists and advocates, organizational development, and systems change advocacy.

As a culmination of her work in advocacy and music education, she developed A Resilient Tune, a workshop that drives the conversation on the history of Black music as it relates to social politics and healing.
